Thank you to the B Ocean Resort in Fort Lauderdale for hosting my husband and me for a FABULOUS weekend. It’s always been our favorite getaway that’s close to home and makes us feel like we’re away on vacation.
B Sun-Kissed
Nestled along the sun-kissed shores of Fort Lauderdale Beach, the B Ocean Resort stands as a beacon of both modern luxury and rich history. It’s no secret that this resort happens to be my favorite place to stay on the beach as I love both the history that has welcomed travelers for decades and all of the amenities (and fun) that they offer, this resort is not just a place to stay — it’s an experience that blends the nostalgia of Old Florida paired with everything that today’s travelers crave (and more). With its iconic ship-like architecture, the legendary Wreck Bar, and a unique history that dates back to its days as the Yankee Clipper, B Ocean is a resort where the past and present seamlessly intertwine. It’s funny, but every time I’ve been for either a stay or dinner (or even mentioned the resort), my friends and family get excited to tell me all about how they’ve experienced the property over the years.
B Iconic
One of the first things you’ll notice about B Ocean Resort is its distinctive shape. The main building is famously designed to resemble a large ocean liner, an homage to Fort Lauderdale’s reputation as the “Venice of America.” This unique architecture has made the resort an instantly recognizable landmark since its original construction in 1956, when it was first known as the Yankee Clipper.
The objective was to create a hotel that not only offered luxury accommodations but also celebrated the maritime culture of South Florida. The ship-like structure, complete with porthole windows and a sleek, streamlined design, instantly captivated visitors and became a symbol of Fort Lauderdale’s

Prefer a dip in the pool? Yeah, they’ve got that too! Did I mention there is not one but TWO pools? I found the beachside pool to be active and a fun place to make friends and the second one to be a quieter getaway.

Foodies rejoice as the B Ocean Resort is a haven for food lovers, with four restaurants and three bars offering everything from casual beachside bites to sophisticated dining experiences, the resort’s restaurants showcase the best of local flavors with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients.

One of the highlights is Naked Crab, a seafood-centric restaurant that offers a modern twist on classic dishes. Here, you can indulge in everything from fresh oysters and stone crab claws to perfectly grilled fish and tender lobster. The menu is complemented by an extensive wine list and creative cocktails, making it a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a special celebration.
For those looking for something more casual, Salty Siren is the resort’s beachside bar and grill, offering light bites and refreshing drinks in a relaxed, al fresco setting. It’s the perfect place to grab a bite to eat after a day on the beach or to enjoy a sunset cocktail while taking in the stunning ocean views. For drinks on the beach, you can’t beat a frozen drink (I got a Pina Colada) or whatever your favorite is at the Sand Bar on the beach.
And of course, no visit to B Ocean would be complete without a stop at the Wreck Bar, where you can enjoy a menu of delicious small plates and craft cocktails while watching the famous mermaid show.

I love to explore by bicycle (I just wish my husband loved it as much as I do). The hotel has thought of everything for those seeking an active vacation. From bicycles for guests to rent, to a 24-hour fitness center, free weekend yoga and meditation classes on the beach, or laps in the pool. You’ll find volleyball courts, games and fun on Fort Lauderdale Beach as well.
B Relaxed
The room choices are as varied as they are luxurious, offering guests a blend of modern comfort and seaside charm.
